If you have ever attended one of Dark Shadow Ghost Tours events in the past, you know we have a tendency to go overboard, well this year is going to be no different. Some of the activities we have planned for this year's Halloween Bash are going to be awesome. We are already working on the prizes and in fact cannot wait for the ghost hunt. Here is how the evening is going to be laid out...
This is a rough time schedule for the evening...
6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Doors open, check-in, get your photo taken (1 will be printed for you to take with you, and 1 will be printed to be used for Costume Contest Voting), get some food, grab a seat, meet with fellow partiers.6:30 p.m. We will start off the party with some music, trivia, open up the ESP Testing (see below), and the Medium readings (for those who purchased extra ticket).
7:00 p.m. Costume Contest Voting to begin (ends at 9:00 p.m.) (see below)
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. EVP Poker Run (see below)
8:00 p.m. Photo Scavenger Hunt (see below)
8:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Human Clue Game (see below)
10:00 p.m. Trophies and Give-A-Ways (see below)
10:30 p.m. Renewal of Vows (see below)
11:00 p.m. - 3 a.m. Ghost Hunting and Investigation (see below)
Events Explained
Although we have listed the events on the flyers, posters, and website... we decided it might be a good idea to help explain what some of these items mean and how they will work. Every event that we are having at this year's Halloween Bash are custom events that the DSGT Team has come up with to help incorporate the use of the building, ghost hunting, and fun.ESP Testing Explained
As you may or may not be aware, ESP has actually been scientifically tested and proven to be an ability in some people. Dark Shadow Ghost Tours has procured a set of Zener cards and has a full ESP test available to you for FREE during the event. You can go to our testing center at any time and have your psychic ability tested and certified.Costume Contest Explained
Well it wouldn't be a Halloween party without a costume contest, so here is how the costume contest will be run during the event. When you arrive, we will take your photograph and print 2 copies of the photo. One will be for you to take home with you, and one we will assign a contestant number and post for all to see for voting. When you arrive, you will receive a voting ballot that will allow you to cast your vote for a winner. We will also post the pictures on our Facebook page to allow those who cannot attend a chance to vote as well. Here is how we will award the winners:
1st and 2nd place for Best Clue Character
1st and 2nd place for Scariest
1st and 2nd place for Funniest
1st and 2nd place for Best Home Made
1st and 2nd place for Cutest
1st and 2nd for most on-line votes
One - Best of Show
All winners will receive a mini trophy and additional tickets into the give-a-way drawings.
EVP Poker Run Explained
Well, you have probably heard of poker runs before, we just put a little paranormal spin on things. This actually is going to be your first chance to do some ghost hunting in the building, while playing a game. Here is how it will work:
We will have 5 locations picked out from within the building, and the guests will break up into 5 different groups. When we start, you will go to your first location as a group and perform... you got it, a 5 minute EVP session. Each person will have to ask at least 5 questions; however, here is the kicker. Before you begin the session, you will draw a card that has a word that cannot be used within the questioning. If you slip and use the word, your question doesn't count and you will have to ask a different question.
At the end of your session, if you asked your 5 questions, you will receive an envelope that contains a playing card. You then go to the next location and perform another session.
When you are done with the 5 sessions, you come back to the party area and you will have the chance to exchange 2 of the envelopes that are not opened for new cards (you have to use your ESP here).
Once everyone has their cards, we will open them up, and the best hand will win! The winner will receive additional tickets for the give-a-ways.
Photo Scavenger Hunt Explained
With this event, we will be placing 30 Glenn the Ghost pictures throughout the building. You and your team will have 20 minutes to find these Glenn's and take a picture of them. After the 20 minutes we will all convene back at party central and tally up how many you where able to find. Here is the catch, Glenn says you can only use one camera to collect the photos per team.
All team members on the winning team will receive additional tickets for the give-a-ways.
Human Clue Game Explained
The Human Clue game event will give you a chance to play the clue game using the building as the game board. Again, you will be broken up into groups and travel through the building to various locations to collect clues.
Once all teams have collected clues, you will have a chance to ask 2 questions of other teams members. We will then take a few moments and allow your team to deliberate and come up with your guess as to "Who Done It?"
The winning team members will receive additional tickets for the give-a-ways.
Renewals of Vows Explained
At the end of the party, we will be performing a "Renewal of Wedding Vows" in the chapel at Hill View Manor. This ceremony will be for anyone who is already married, and would like to renew their vows on Halloween night in a haunted chapel. We will ask that you join us if you wish for a small ceremony. Please note, the last time the core team investigated the chapel, one of our members actually caught an apparition in a photograph. There is a rumor that Beetle-juice and Lydia may be in attendance as well.
Trophies and Give-A-Ways
Each person in attendance will receive 1 ticket into for the give-a-ways. Throughout the night, you will have chances to win additional tickets into the drawings. At the end of the event, we be drawing for the following major prizes and items:

Ghost Hunting and Investigations
After the Trophies and Give-A-Ways, all guests will get a short break that will allow them to change out of out of their costumes, grab their ghost hunting gear, and we will spend the rest of the night ghost hunting throughout the building.
We will most likely team up in groups and pick areas to go that will not contaminate each others investigating. This has worked out well in the past when we have investigated Hill View with a large group.
